Waydukistan

Yes it is a weird title but it is OUR place way out on the North Norfolk Coast, a very beautiful place where we sit and watch and relax , Oyster catchers call and swoop , the wind gently wafts over us and we breathe a sigh ,no need to speak . Our adventure starts on a muddy path carefully navigating rickety wooden bridges, realising we had forgotten our crab lines, but never mind we will remember next time, we pick our way over the slippery mud, grasping on to reach other (obviously we have checked the tide times and we are safe)at last we reach a lovely expanse of swaying sea pinks and grasses and sea campion we find a big old piece of driftwood and settle down to watch and wait, a group of three lugworm diggers amble past us with their buckets and make their way out onto the mud," afternoon lovely day" we greet each other, the knowledge passed between us that we are so very lucky to live here!and yes we wait and watch, and there are Waders and Ducks and loveliness, hence Waydukistan!!! But our adventure is not over, we walk on maybe we should go back the other way, no we ll carry on the big inlet awaits us, we havent been here since the floods so we dont know how the ground has changed, and there it is a deep inlet of mud and luckily it hasnt changed to much, the bottom is firm and the water not too deep, we pick our way to the bottom and scramble up the other side, a little slippery but ok, then up and over the tiny rivulets hopping and jumping and following our little path,so pretty, its good to be back at Waydukistan our place !!!

Clouds

Apart from being fascinated with trees I am also fascinated by clouds.

Pesticide course

What have I let myself in for, been volunteered to go on a pesticide course next Monday, getting bit worried, hope I can do it, application of pesticides by hand held equipment!Monday is theory and later that day an assessment, then on Thursday actual spraying on a Nature Reserve, I wouldnt trust me!!! if any body can put my mind at rest and have done this course , please message me!!

To the Bat Cave!!!

Did a very batty task last Monday with the Trinnies volunteers, clearing brambles away from Ormesby Water Works Bat House, it was very overgrown and apparently Bats dont like brambles very scratchy near their sensitive wings if they are in the way of their flight path, got loads done, but still picking out thorns from various places!!!

Walsingham Snowdrops

Went to Walsingham the other week, carpets of white like snow, it was very lovely!

Is Spring here yet?

Well, can we breathe a sigh of relief yet, is Spring here yet, or are we being lulled into a false sense or security, March is supposed to be "in like a Lion and out like a Lamb"
Pictures were taken on a walk into Yarmouth along Caister beach early morning, and the clouds were taken Scratby Cliffs last week.If you look carefully you can see a tiny rainbow beneath the clouds!

Titchwell and Sunny Hunny

Had a lovely day out on Saturday, poodling up the North Norfolk Coast, went to Titchwell Nature Reserve, saw lots of birds, lots of ticks not ticks as in nasty insects, but ticks as in birds ive not seen, which is a lot!!!Little Stint, Little Ringed Plover, Curlew Sandpiper Spoonbills, they drifter in late in the day, we stayed till sunset which was breathtaking, the light was perfect even for my poor old binoculars!!!
We then fancied fish and chips so went off to Hunstanton or sunny Hunny, went up the cliffs.the views were lovely the day was perfec!!!!!
